Styling Hair
I did a little video about how I style the dolls’ hair. It’s my own messy and chaotic method.
This a new doll without a name, but her hair was inspired by images of the British women’s suffrage activist, Christabel Pankhurst.
And here she is post-styling.
Materials
Doll — Prairie Crocus Studio, slim woman
Doll Hair — I use mohair, I believe from this shop, but they don’t sell it anymore. I just ordered more from this shop
Thread — I either match the doll or the hair depending on the style
Scissors — my youngest recently used both of my fabric scissors to cut balsa wood, so I’m using the only sharp pair I have
Pins — I use glass ball head pins similar to these
Long needle — I use Dritz doll needles. I didn’t use one for the first few and it was such a pain.
Shorter needle — just a normal sewing needle
Hairbrush — I stole it from my son
Patience & optimism — because at some point in the process everything becomes a chaotic mess. Take a deep breath. It will be ok!
